Hey!! How are you all? Everything is going more than great!!! People are beginning to think that we are locals wherever we go.. i don't know what it is about us but i must say we are some good travelers. haha well anyways what to say what to say.... we continued on and allowed our soar legs to heal from our dreadful day on the roof of our hostel cleaning our clothes by hand for many hours.. Then after that we continued onto TANZANIA!!! We were so excited we practically lost weight from jumping up and down so much. (that was an expression..) but yeah so we crossed the border it took 2 hours.. yeah 2 hours at the border to move on because they went through every single thing in the bus everything! CRAZY CRAZY... then we arrived in Tanga which is the sweetest little town i have been to in Africa! Adorable, the people are so sweet, and it just has that cozy small town sindrum. Everyone was biking around, that just what they do for transportation.. for the most part, i mean there are cars but it is cheaper to bike so they bike! It was like holland but not! Hehe oh i love traveling. We met up with one of Melanie's friends friends from a previous time in tanga! They were the sweetest people! They took us out showed us so many things and treated us like royalty! I love knowing local people it makes the experiences all the better! We only spent a day in Tanga, sad to say but we made the best out of it!!! We went on a bike for 1 hour and went caving for one hour and then 1 hour biking back! WOOT work out! I swear i lost any extra weight i had on me lol (just wishing).. So yeah then we just chilled out with the locals after that! What a blast.. Ew and we tried their local 'cocanut wine' it was repulsive! HAHAH EWWWWWW Mel and i had to plug our noses to finish our miniscule cup! GROose! Okie so then we headed on toward Zanzibar!!!!!!!! YEAH ZANZI! We went through some troubles trying to catch our ferry but like always so survived and moved on.. We met up with one of Mel's friends along the way to Zanzi and had a nice short visit. Very nice. So we had connections here at Zanzi so we have by far the best prices on our rooms here! BLESSED WE ARE! So happy, everywhere we go we are like full of it (blessings) We get local prices all the time! It's amazing! BY THE WAY!! MELANIE GOT BOOI BOOI!! (you know those outfits that the muslims wear that cover you in black except your eyes show) YEAH SHE GOT THAT! She has been wearing it for 1 day now and people are like wow! Muzugu ninga!! But a tourist was like excuse me are you muslim? Then he was like are you WHITE!??! lol he was so happy that he spotted mel and asked a billion of questions and they answer why she got it was she always wondered what it is like and also we are sick of guys hastling us! ADVENTURES I MUST SAY LAMU
Ok! Hello everyone!!! I am rewriting this blog again!! Geepers computers are not my friend! But anyways!! So where we left off i was heading to the most amazing place on earth! LAMU I must tell you all to go there at some point of your life! OK so what it consisted of for us was beaches, swimming, tanning, reading, food, drink, and fun!!! We went on a day dhow trip and a 2 day dhow drip ( Sounds like Du Owww) (it is a sailboat made out of thousands of pieces of wood) ok... soo these trips were sweet off the hook i must say... they kinda went like this... we got on the boat sailed for an hour and then got to a beach that is whiter than the beach before (on Sse Sse) and you would get there swim frolic in the waves enjoy yourself! Eat a meal cooked over coal and the fish that you caught would be cooked over fire using sticks from the bushes to hold them up!! AMAZING FOOD I SAY! Oh and you know eat some sting ray that was speared! Yeah speared that is right SPEARED. Have you ever experienced this before? Yea so this guy just jumps off of the boat and you know have his snorkel on so he can see all the lil fishes and then dives down holds his breath and takes his spear and you know SPEARS A STING RAY! You do realize that crocidoodle dundee died from one! They do this everyday,.... anyways a little too obsessive! But wow! So yeah you would eat, drink, swim, read and relax!!! So yeah then we went on a 2 night 3 day trip... which we sailed for 6 hours in the sweltering sun with a beautiful sea breeze ever so sweetly cooling you off, while your hand moves through the glistening aqua blue water. Sorry to make it sound so good but gosh! ha ha So yeah anyways!! I HAVE A STORY! So we are just floating along with the mast way up like 40 feet in the air... Mia (a girl from the trip) and I are laying at the from of the boat, you know doing the same as before.. letting the water cool us off from the splashing waves, reminiscing... then all of the sudden we hear a little crunch, then continued on.. then CRACK!!!!!!!! hoaky dina! The MAST BROKE IN HALF!!!! Insane! We were freaking we moved so quickly it wasn't even funny! We watched like a couple of deer caught in the headlights as the crew bandaged up the old mast which consists of like 20 pieces of wood packed together with string! HA So then yeah they put it back up and everyone cheered and all was good.. The told us that that is how the boats sink and yeah we could have died! Not a big deal at all ahahha (nervous laughter)! The owner of the boat cracked open a beer to celebrate, and everyone was so happy!! ...Then all of the sudden BAMBBB!! The mast broke AGAIN!!!! WHEW crazy moments of my life! Not only did it break again but we knew we could die !!!! HAHAHA (nervous laughter again)... So we are holding each other and watching the crew now looking like a bunch of ants waiting to be stepped on!!! They hoisted the thing (mast) up and all was well and then the owner finished his beer! Ba ha! good times.. Anyways soo then we are sailing along the beautiful waters and then all the sudden i see this amazing i mean amazing looking beach with this tree house (a REAL ONE KATIE)!!! Then i was like in my mind (Oh man what i would give to stay at that beach).. then like 5 minutes later we pulled up to this little cove of a beach with the tree house and you know trees growing out of the water (literally out of the water like sometimes you can't even see them anymore because they are submerged in the sea!!) There was a little hut where we would cook our meals and all! We spent our couple of days soaking rays, listening to acousticy music, talking, laughing a little too hard he he, and i donno good times ok! So yeah then we came back on the dhow and yeah floating along with the motor on (really defeats the purpose of the (sail) and all) but yeah in the middle of this beautiful Indian ocean when all of the sudden... GUESS WHAT!!! WE HIT CORAL!!! Our boat flew into the air and the back of it (where the motor is) was WAY out of the water! It was insane HAHAHAHAHA By this time nothing scared me lol Melanie on the other hand i swear she shat her pants. oh my oh my... so we had to rock the boat back and forth (not safe pastor craig) until we could somehow i don't know how but we did get off of this patch of coral!! Loving this life in Africa! OK that was it for the trip... i have sweet video footage! You would all be proud! Our time in Lamu was the best ever beautiful memories and good times... We stayed for 8 days and that is alot but we didn't even realize how long we were there! OH MAN.... but yeah we continued onto Mombasa, Kenya and that is where I am now... We were very very dirty.. no laundry for about 3 weeks!! WE'RE not doing that again! We spent 4-5 hours cleaning laundry BY HAND BY HAND ( just wanted to make sure you heard that) Do you know what that consists of... we pretty much died! HA HA no no no we are just dying from our ham strings being stretched for far too long bending over to wash our clothes (by hand) in little dinky buckets of water with hardly any soap and stringing out clothes on lines... and having to take them down and put them up the next day!! OK I'll stop.. note to self PAY SOMEONE to do my laundry, it's like 2 Dollars! jeepers.. I must say that I have had the experience of a life time yesterday cleaning all those disgustingly dirty clothes. .... Well that's all for now... i am sick of the computer and i think am going slightly crazy from these florescent lights! Love you all... please please write back (not to force you at all);)
